On 18 August 2026, St. Johannes Berchmans School commemorated the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence with a flag ceremony attended by students, teachers and staff. Wearing red and white or their school uniforms, members of the community gathered with pride and gratitude to honour the courage, sacrifice and shared determination behind the nation's independence.
The ceremony was conducted with discipline and dignity, with student officers and the flag-raising team carrying out their responsibilities before the school community. As the Red and White flag was raised and the national anthem was sung, participants were invited to reflect on the meaning of unity, citizenship and service.
